So why burn wood to heat your home, shop, greenhouse or pool? First off it is a renewable resource that is readily available which helps eliminate our dependancy on foreign fuel - not to mention the cost savings. Most people who switch from burning propane for example, notice that one of our outdoor wood furnaces will typically pay for itself within a few years after installation. There are many advantages to burning wood outside such as possibly lower homeowners insurance, improved indoor air quality (as opposed to burning wood indoors), risk of property damage done from chimney fires is eliminated, heat is thermostatically controlled from inside your home, overall cleanliness inside your home is also improved since all of the wood, dust, smoke, bugs and bark typically associated with burning wood, are all left outside. Heating with an outdoor wood furnace as opposed to an indoor wood stove is also easier from the standpoint that our systems take larger pieces of wood which shortens the time spent cutting and typically even on the coldest January days, will hold a fire for 24 hours (many indoor wood stoves will burn for 4-5 hours). While there are many of our customers who boast longer burn times, please remember that the burn times are based on quality of wood and your specific heating requirements.
Not sure where to start? Try out our sizing chart using prior years heating usage to determine which size system is right for you. From there, determine if the E-Classic or the Classic is the correct series for you. We are always happy to help you in the decision making process by sharing with you other customer’s experiences. If you live in close proximity to neighbors, we strongly suggest you look into the E-Classic series as the smoke emitted from this series is much less than what is noticed from our Classic line.
If you’re not convinced that using one of our outdoor wood furnaces is right for you, maybe you should take a look at our Maxim series outdoor pellet furnaces which are also a great alternative. These compact, easy to use pellet furnaces offer the same comfortable heat that our outdoor wood furnaces offer, but with a large hopper to keep the loading to a minimum. It isn’t uncommon to hear of customers loading their outdoor pellet furnace on a weekly basis.
